Ronald Darby

Mr. Ronald Darby is currently Vermilion Parish Police Juror President and Police Juror (15.5 years of service) District No.4. He serves as an active member of various Police Jury Committees which include Finance, Public Works, General Needs, Coastal Restoration & Protection, 911, Building & Rabies-Animal-Sub.

He is an Ordained Elder at Lighthouse for Jesus Ministry and an Ordained Minister (currently Interim Pastor) at St. James Church of Christ. His education includes Abbeville High School, Computer Literacy Program at Crowley Tech., Service Technician Program at NTCI Tech School, and Electrical Technician Program at ICS School.

For 8 years, Mr. Darby was an Apprentice Lineman for the City of Abbeville in the Electrical Department, a Communications Service Technician for 18 years at Cox Cable, and a licensed Electrician for 25 years at RJ Darby Electrical.

He has served on the Vermilion Parish Youth Planning Board, the Fire and Police Civil Service Board, and currently serves on the Acadiana Planning Commission, the St. Mary/ Vermilion Community Action, the LA Workforce Commission, the Acadian Crime Lab, and the Herod Village Organization (Youth Department).

Mr. Darby has been married to Mrs. Gaynell Darby for 31 years, and they are the proud parents of 7 children, 23 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
