Gerald "Mike” McLeod is a native of Beauregard Parish and a graduate of Singer High School. He is a successful businessman and is owner of McLeod Construction and Farming, Inc. since 1978. In 1962, he was drafted in the United States Army and served two years. He was stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis.
He was first elected to the Beauregard Parish Police Jury in 1986. He is now serving his 30th year. He has served 4 ½ years as Parish President and 2 years as Vice President. He is currently serving on the Road and Bridge Committee. He has served on many Boards and Committees during his tenure with the Police Jury. He served on NACo Highway and Transportation Committee. He has long served as Chairman of the Association’s Highway Committee.
He was elected in 2004 to serve as Member at Large of the State Association’s Executive Board and is currently serving as past President. He also served on the Association’s
He is a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion, Louisiana’s Cattleman’s Association, and Farm Bureau. He was appointed in 2003 and continues to serve on the Selective Service Board to represent Beauregard Parish.
Mike and his wife Jeanez reside in Singer and are very active in the community. He has one daughter, one son and five grandchildren.
