Kenny Haymon
President

Kenny is currently serving his 4th term on the Vernon Parish Police Jury. He is a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish.  He is married to Jessica Haymon, a teacher at N. Polk Elementary, and they have one son, Jace, who is 14 years old and an 8th grader.  Kenny is a 2005 graduate of Northwestern State University and a teacher at Leesville High and has been employed by the Vernon Parish School Board for 24+ years.

During his time on the Police Jury, he has chaired and served on several committees with the police jury and also served on a committee with the Region 8 Police Jury Association.

Kenny is an active member of the Anacoco First Baptist Church, member of the Vernon Federation of Teachers and School Employees and Louisiana Federation of Teachers, 4-H Sponsor for several years, the Louisiana Police Jury Association, the National Association of Counties, and has been a nominating member for the Jr. National Young Leaders Conference, and an avid high school sports fan.

Haymon states, "It is an honor to serve on the PJAL Executive Board in a leadership position.  Advocating for local government is so important to the viability of our parishes.  So many things happen in Baton Rouge that can affect our constituents, and we are blessed to have a seat at the table during the process.  The PJAL is a great organization that has a strong reputation at the Capitol for fighting for local government fair share of Federal and state money to assist with all the responsibilities local government has.  It is so much more than just roads and bridges--so much more.  We also have many unfunded mandates passed down to us.  We are the governing body of the parish, and we make an impact!"
