Glenn Benton
President

President Glenn Benton is a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish and a Graduate of Haughton High School. From 1969-2000, he worked for the Shreveport Fire Department. In 1999, he was the Exchange Club of Shreveport’s Outstanding Firefighter of the Year, and in 2000, he was the Fire Officer of The Year. He retired as District Chief.

From 1995-2007, Benton was a residential home builder.

Benton was appointed to the Bossier Parish Police Jury in May 2007 for District 2 and was elected for his first term in 2008. He served as Vice President in 2008 and President in 2009. He is currently President again. He was elected to Region 4 Executive Board in 2012. He is currently serving on several committees for the Police Jury and is Chairman of the Resolutions Committee.

He is an active member of First Baptist Haughton serving as usher and on church committees.

He is married to wife, Patricia, and has 2 sons (USA Col. Larry Benton of Alexandria, LA, and Randall Benton of Haughton, LA) and 4 grandchildren.
