Francis Andrepont was born in Iota, Acadia Parish, Louisiana, in his grandfather’s home, to his parents, Robert and Louise Andrepont. His parents moved to Sulphur, LA, in 1942, where he attended the Calcasieu Parish School System, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1953.
In 1958, he married the former Barbara A. Dartez. They are the proud parents of two sons: Joe A. Andrepont and Mark A. Andrepont. They have six grandchildren—two grandsons and four granddaughters and two great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
In 1964, Francis and Barbara started their own business, Modern Marble, Inc., a cultured marble business where they were active for 39 years before retiring. In 1986, he was elected to the Sulphur City Council where he served for 6 ½ years, serving as the Council Chairman 2 terms. In 1992, he was elected to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, where he is now serving his 6th term. In 1996, he was elected Vice President, and in 1997, was elected to serve as President. Presently, he serves as chairman of various parish committees. In 2007, he was elected as Region 7 Executive Board Member for the Police Jury Association of Louisiana.
He is a member of the K of C Council 3015, Cajun French Music Association, and the IMCAL Board. Francis and Barbara are members of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where he serves as lecturer. In 2014, he was appointed by Glen John Provost, Bishop, of Lake Charles Diocese as Parish Trustee for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
