Doug Rimmer Doug Rimmer is currently serving his 4th term on the Bossier Parish Police Jury. He has served as President in 2014, 2019 and 2023 having served as Vice President in the 3 preceding years. He served as PJAL Executive Board Member for Region IV and now served as 3rd Vice President. He also served as Co-Chairman of PJAL Committees and on the NACO Technology and Telecommunications Committee on which he continues to serve. He is also President of the Bossier Library Control Board. Doug began his elected service in 1986 when he served a term on the Parish School Board. Doug graduated from LSU-Shreveport as valedictorian of the University’s first graduating class in 1975. He has since served as President of the LSUS Alumni Association, having also served as VP and Founding Chairman of the LSUS Mindpower Campaign. He has completed post graduate work in Business Administration as well as Insurance and Risk Management and Advanced Manufacturing. He has served as an adjunct professor at LSUS in those areas for the College of Business. He has completed course work in Film Communications at Bossier Parish Community College where he wrote and produced the Documentary Film, “Diagnosis Life” which was filmed in Germany with the BPCC film crew of instructors and students. A man of faith, Doug has worked in pastoral ministry, evangelism and as Vice President of Faith Bible College. He has edited multiple Christian books and articles and was a Distributor for Christian publisher, Word, Inc. for its Personal Growth Resources. As a Freelance writer he has published numerous articles in local, regional and international publications. Doug’s business career was focused primarily on Computer Technology having served years as a Systems Designer for a AT&T subsidiary and other High-Tech firms and as Distributor for IBM, AT&T, Apple and Microsoft. He also owned franchises including Worldwide Express, Window King, T S Station, and Worldwide Refinishing and was co-founder of National Mail-It and other successful enterprises. As a franchisee for National Business Brokers, Inc. he helped many entrepreneurs buy and sell businesses. Doug and his wife Madge have been married over 56 years with two sons and 6 grandchildren. |
