Christa Duplantis-Prather, R.N.
Christa Duplantis-Prather is currently serving her fifth term on the Terrebonne Parish Council representing District 5. She was elected to a term as Council Vice-Chair in 2015, and has served as Chair and Vice-Chair for most of the committees of the Council.
At the state level, she has been a President for the Police Jury Association Regions 1 and 2, and she has served as Chair and Vice-Chair for several state committees. She regularly attended the PJA Regions 1 and 2 annual meetings, and she has actively sought out ways to participate at the state conventions. At the national level, she regularly attends the National Association of Counties (NACo) annual conventions to create, share, and learn new ideas and new philosophies on the management of local governments, while also being a member of NACo’s
Her public service does not only extend to governmental organizations, however. She is an alumni of the 2012 Class of Leadership Terrebonne and is a Board member of The Haven (an organization that
Christa currently works as a Registered Nurse. In 1991, she graduated from LSU Medical School, and, in 2006, she received her Bachelor of Science
The daughter of the late Floyd Duplantis, former Police Juror, and the late Mrs. Robena Pertuit Duplantis, Christa is married to the love of her life, Charles Prather.
