Bob Brotherton is a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish. He is a graduate of Haughton High School, Northwestern State University (B.S. degree), and Louisiana Tech University (M.S. degree and +30). Bob started his career in 1975 as a teacher/coach at Haughton High School in Bossier Parish. He served as Head Track coach, assistant football coach, classroom teacher, and driver’s education instructor. He also was an adjunct instructor for Bossier Parish Community College, teaching First Responder basic and advanced life saving courses. Bob is a lifetime member of the LHSAA. He was selected by his peers ten times as the District Coach of the Year in Track, three times as the Shreveport Times All Area Coach of the Year, and Shreveport/Bossier Award for Outstanding Contribution to Track.

After 33 years of service to Haughton High School and Bossier Parish Schools, he retired in 2007. Bob is serving in his second term with the Bossier Parish Police Jury. He is currently serving as President and served as Vice President in 2016. He is on 15 different committees as either a member or chairperson. Bob has been married to his wife, Billie Jo Cryer Brotherton, for 45 years. They have two sons, Jason (wife Kenda) and Coy (wife Stacey), and four grandchildren.
