This conference aims to bring together key stakeholders to advance the equitable, ethical, transparent, and effective use of opioid settlement funds.

Conference Overview:

  • Goal: To unite leaders, researchers, policymakers, advocates, and individuals with lived and living experience.

  • Focus: Accelerating the use of opioid settlement funds to address the opioid crisis in an effective and transparent manner.

  • Organized by: The Steadman Group, a Colorado-based, certified B-Corp consulting firm specializing in health and social services.

    • The Steadman Group has extensive experience in opioid settlement planning, governance, evaluation, and implementation across multiple states.

Opioid Settlement Funds Usage:

  • Use of Funds: Your opioid settlement proceeds can be used to send a team from your agency to attend this conference.

  • Relevant Guideline: Section K of Louisiana’s Exhibit-A, “Approve Purposes and Opioid Abatement Strategies,” permits using funds for:

    • Staff training

    • Networking programs and services

    • Enhancing the capacity of government, community, and nonprofit entities to address the opioid crisis

The LAOATF believes that your opioid settlement funding can cover the following expenses:

  • Airfare and travel costs

  • Transportation

  • Lodging
