DPS Clarifies Timeline for Expenditures
After consultation with the Division of
Administration, the Department of Public Safety,
through Acting Undersecretary Jill Boudreaux, has
determined that the provision in the standard
intergovernmental agreement for the UCC Aid to Local
Governments, specifying that all funds must be
expended by the local government recipient by June
15, 200, can be amended by an addendum. She
states: "DPS
can distribute and recognize the $8M award as
expended funds in total in FY07. Since we would
recognize as expended, the June 15 deadline would
not apply for locals to spend.
We could establish a deadline past 06/15/07 to
allow for reconciliation or any return of unspent
funds, perhaps 09/30/07. We could do a simple
addendum to the agreements already out there and
revise any future."
This means that if your parish has received approval
for funding but will need longer than June 15, 2007
to complete the expenditure of those funds, all you
need to do is to contact Acting Undersecretary
Boudreaux and request an addendum. For
questions or more information please contact Dan
Garrett @ 888-551-2835 or
