POLICE JURY ASSOCIATION OF LOUISIANA EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

The Police Jury Association of Louisiana held its statewide executive board meeting Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center. PJAL President Richard Billings presided. The board discussed plans to hold a "Newly Elected Officials" informational seminar on December 6, 2007, in Baton Rouge and co-host the NACo Rural Action Caucus conference on October 31-November 2, 2007. Sunny McCreary was introduced as the new PJAL communications director.

The Executive Board accepted group health, workers compensation and annual audit reports from CCMSI and Postletwaite and Netterville. The board also outlined plans to hold region meetings with the newly elected State House and Senate members as well as reviewed the Gubernatorial Questionnaire sent out by the Association. In addition, Melvin Haymon and Francis Andrepont were sworn in as executive board members. Lastly, the board elected Bob Manuel to the PERS State Retirement Board and received an association activity update from Executive Director, Roland Dartez.
