2007 PJAL ORIENTATION CONFERENCE: GOVERNOR-ELECT JINDAL GUEST SPEAKER

Over 250 newly elected and re-elected police jurors, parish council members and other parish officials attended the 2007 Orientation Conference yesterday held at the Hilton Capitol Center in Baton Rouge.

Presentations were made by Governor-elect “Bobby” Jindal, Attorney General-elect James “Buddy” Caldwell, the Attorney General’s Office, the Board of Ethics, the Legislative Auditor’s Office and the LSU Ag Center.

Roland Dartez, Dan Garrett and Marvin Lyons of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana, along with the lobbying firm of Courson Nickle, presented attendees with information on the legislature and congress.

Those in attendance got an overview of some of the major issues that will confront them upon taking their office. Also, they learned how the PJAL can assist them with different issues that may arise.
