Police Jury Association of Louisiana Region VII
Meeting:
New President Elected
Elected
and appointed officials from eight parishes gathered on October 3, 2007, for a
meeting at the Grand Lake Fireman’s Center in Lake Charles, LA. Cameron parish hosted the meeting for members
of the Police Jury Association. In
addition to Cameron parish, Region VII includes Acadia, Allen, Beauregard,
Calcasieu, Evangeline, Jefferson Davis and Vermillion.
Chris
Landry of Calcasieu Parish was elected region VII President for the upcoming
year. Also of Calcasieu parish, Tony
Stelly was elected Secretary-Treasurer. In
addition, Bill Guidry of Evangeline Parish was elected Vice President. At an earlier special meeting, Calcasieu
Parish Police Juror Francis Andrepont was elected to fill the unexpired term of
Sandy Treme’ as the Region VII Executive Board Member. During the region meeting, Andrepont was
elected to serve as Executive Board Member for the full term for the
approaching year, and Hubert Faulk was elected to fill a vacancy on a standing
committee.
Region
VII President Darryl Farque presided over the meeting. Richard Billings, Police
Jury Association President from Rapides Parish, addressed those in attendance
of the meeting. A Cajun Humorist, Jonathon
Perry, was the guest speaker. Roland
Dartez, Executive Director of the Police Jury Association, thanked officials
and special guests for a great year in the legislature and for their continued
support and involvement.
