Police Jury Association of Louisiana Region V
Meeting:
New President Elected
Elected
and appointed officials from 11 parishes gathered on September 20, 2007, for a
meeting at the Farmerville Recreation Center in Farmerville, LA. Union parish hosted the meeting for members
of the Police Jury Association. In
addition to Union Parish, Region V includes Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin,
Jackson, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll.
Jane
Netterville of Tensas Parish was elected Region V
President for the upcoming year. Also,
Cathy Darden was elected as Secretary-Treasurer of Region V, and Mack Calhoun
of Ouachita Parish was elected Vice President.
Kenneth Graham was elected to replace Jeff Wyant,
who is running for State Representative, as the Region V Executive Board
Member. Jane Netterville
and Eugene Crosby were also elected to fill vacancies on the PJAL standing
committees.
Region
V President Johnny Buckley presided over the meeting. Union Parish Police
Jurors, George Upshaw and A. J. Smith, led the invocation and the Pledge of
Allegiance. Amber Boatright
sang the National Anthem. Guest speaker
Judge Jay McCallum delivered a funny yet poignant address to the crowd.
Richard
Billings, Police Jury Association President from Rapides Parish, addressed
those in attendance of the meeting. In
addition, Roland Dartez, Executive Director of the
Police Jury Association thanked officials and special guests for a great year
in the legislature and for their continued support and involvement.
