Police Jury Association of Louisiana Region III Meeting:

New President Elected

Elected and appointed officials from nine parishes gathered on September 6, 2007, for a meeting at the Frem F. Boustany Convention Center in Lafayette. Lafayette parish hosted the meeting for members of the Police Jury Association. In addition to Lafayette Parish, Region III includes Assumption, Iberia, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and West Baton Rouge.

Bernard Broussard of Iberia Parish was elected Region III President for the upcoming year. Also, Marty Triche of Assumption Parish was elected Vice President. In addition, Mike Huval of St. Martin Parish was re-elected as the Region III Police Jury Association of Louisiana Executive Board Member.

Region III President Dale Bourgeois presided over the meeting. Reverend Martin Borcherding gave the invocation followed by Bernard Broussard of Iberia Parish with the Pledge of Allegiance. Richard Billings, Police Jury Association President from Rapides Parish, addressed those in attendance of the meeting. A Cajun Humorist, Murray Conque, was the guest speaker. Roland Dartez, Executive Director of the Police Jury Association, thanked officials and special guests for a great year in the legislature and for their continued support and involvement.
