Disaster Rule

A letter regarding the 2016 flood from PJAL Executive Director Roland J. Dartez:

Members of the Parish Government Risk Management Agency Group Health Plan

The Louisiana Department of Insurance has implemented Emergency Rule 27 effective August 12, 2016 – September 12, 2016 for the following parishes:

Emergency Rule 27 is applicable to insureds from the following parishes: Acadia,

Ascension, Avoyelles, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville,

Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Martin,

St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Vermilion, Washington, and West Feliciana, and any such

parishes that have or may hereafter receive a Major Disaster Declaration by the President of the United States or such officer acting under his authority for this historic flood event.

This rule allows the PGRMA plan to make concessions for our member’s residing in the affected areas to offer them assistance and/or waive plan requirements such as Medication refill, Provider network access and prior authorization requirements during the time frame that the Rule is in place, August 12, 2016 to September 12, 2016.

We ask that you post this notice in your work place for your employees and/or distribute to them accordingly.
